The two villages of Stansted and Fairseat are perched on the edge of the North Downs in Kent, less than a mile apart. This beautiful area has been my home since 2001 and as an ardent photographer I find I have amassed quite a collection of photographs of the countryside and local events. I also fitfully research historical photographs and writings on the 2 villages and surrounding area. I hope you enjoy my findings.

Renovation to Fairseat Farmhouse
Fairseat Farmhouse (sits next to the village pond) has been an empty shell and undergoing renovations for quite a few years now. Here is the side of it taken in March 2016 after the extension had been removed and showing windows to the original building (top grey part is all newly built and not original).
Things seem to be moving on now so maybe it will be finished this year.
Old Postcard of The Manor House, Fairseat
Saw this on Ebay. It was bought in 1957 from the Post Office in Fairseat. I think all the other dates on back of card are when they saw the postcard again, so maybe the person who owned it was some kind of 'postcard spotter', a bit like a train spotter! I might go back and take another picture of the scene now, I doubt much has changed.
