Took a picture of the renovated Fairseat Farmhouse on a very grey and dull day the other day and thought it was interesting to compare the old and new side by side.

Old postcard of the War Memorial, Stansted

Back in 2014 I posted another postcard of the war memorial, and it looks like this one was taken at the same time but here you can see more of the hill opposite and surrounding area. Because of the stamp cost, it was probably sent between 1922 - 1940. I wonder who Claire and Bernard were, and their Aunty in Norfolk, Miss Disdale? All these simple little communications now lost to instant text messaging which makes me a little sad.
